I mostly paint in oils and for drawing it's mainly graphite pencil and charcoal. I've tried many different kinds of paint and settled on oils because of the slow drying times that enable me to return to the painting at different intervals without having to worry about it drying too soon. I usually paint alla prima for smaller paintings, but I paint my larger paintings in a few sessions.

I have always been interested in drawing and about 14 years ago, I went back to it and explored color pencil and water color drawing for few years. Then my husband and I started renovating our kitchen and we wanted stained glass cabinet doors. So I took classes in stained glass and for about five years I made everything from cabinet doors, to outside landscape lights, boxes and frames from stained glass.

I'm incapable of painting the same subject ten times. I'm incapable of forcing myself to create five drafts before starting on the final piece. Thus far, I've been incapable of finding a "niche". I believe all people begin creating the moment they gain the motor skills needed to make a deliberate mark. I`ve never met a child who didn`t enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting, or crafting in general. Most of us stop creating as we age because life seems to get in the way of creative pursuit while a few of us can`t ever seem to stop so we find a way to make the time.
